To audit compliance with record-keeping duties in relation to notification as a sector-specific solution pursuant to section 8 (1) and to audit volume flow records pursuant to section 17 (2) VerpackG (last updated: 1 January 2019)
Sector-specific solution audit guidelines
Section 26 (1) no. 28 VerpackG (Packaging Act) authorises the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) to develop audit guidelines that auditors and experts must adhere to. The audit guidelines require approval from the German Federal Cartel Office.
The Verpackungsgesetz (Packaging Act) calls for audits and/or confirmations by auditors or experts at various junctures.
To ensure that the audits and confirmations are consistent across auditor and expert groups, in terms of both audit process and audit level, the ZSVR has developed guidelines that have been approved by the German Federal Cartel Office.
Sector-specific solution audit guidelines
These audit guidelines are the foundation for the audits conducted by auditors/experts registered in the LUCID Packaging Register. The ZSVR has the power to remove auditors/experts from the register of auditors for up to three years – if the auditor/expert repeatedly and in gross breach of duty violates the audit guidelines (section 27 (4) VerpackG).
The market shares of individual systems and sector-specific solutions are published under 'Foundation & Authority – market shares' on the ZSVR website.
