System participation and data reporting

Are you placing packaging that is subject to system participation on the German market? If the answer is 'yes', you not only need to register with the LUCID Packaging Register. You also have to fulfil the system participation requirement and regularly report your packaging volumes.

Registering with the LUCID Packaging Register is just the first step. You also have to assume financial producer responsibility for your retail, grouped or shipment packaging by participating that packaging in a system. You first have to conclude a system participation agreement. After that, you are required to report the exact same packaging volumes you provided to your system operator to the LUCID Packaging Register and you must do so without delay. This is called 'data reporting'.

If you are using packaging that is subject to system participation to distribute your goods, the system participation and data reporting requirements go hand in hand.

System participation

Pay for the recycling of your packaging subject to system participation (retail, grouped and/or shipment packaging) by concluding a system participation agreement with a system operator.

You can conclude your system participation agreement with the system operator of your choice. Choose from the list of providers.

Data reporting

Regularly report the volumes of your packaging subject to system participation to your system operator and the LUCID Packaging Register.

Declaration of completeness

Companies with high packaging volumes have to submit a declaration of completeness for the previous year, checked by an auditor registered with the ZSVR, by no later than 15 May of each year.

Classification decisions
