About the ZSVR

Did you know?

Every year, around eight million tons of packaging waste accumulate with private final consumers in Germany. Large companies are responsible for a significant share of this waste. These companies are required to file an audited declaration of completeness for the previous year by no later than 15 May.

Glass recycling offers great advantages when it comes to protecting the climate and conserving resources. Used glass can be melted down and reused for new products indefinitely – as long as it is correctly disposed of. According to the ZSVR's Advisory Board, citizens would have to collect an additional 2.5 kilogrammes of used glass per year and per capita.

Expert Committee develops minimum standard for recycling-friendly packaging

Packaging contains recyclable material. The degree to which these materials can be reused depends on how fit they are for high-quality recycling. This is specified in the ZSVR's minimum standard. It is updated annually by more than 30 experts from the entire value chain, taking into account new trends and technologies.
