ZSVR publishes new case report: online shop fails to comply with deposit obligation and is issued fine

 — other publications

A German online shop placed singleuse beverage packaging filled with different sodas and energy drinks on the German market, but failed to label this packaging as subject to deposit or charge a deposit. That is why the shop’s operator has had to pay a fivefigure fine. The ZSVR has now published a new case report on the matter.

The online shop also failed to comply with the requirement to register with the LUCID Packaging Register, where it had only indicated that it was placing products in packaging subject to system participation on the market. This means that the online shop had only fulfilled the registration requirement as far as shipment packaging was concerned. The registration lacked the information that the online shop was also placing beverages – in single-use beverage packaging subject to deposit – on the German market.
