 — other publications

Recyclable – yes or no? Drawing on the work of an Expert Committee and in agreement with German Environment Agency, the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) has published a draft version of the 2024 edition of its minimum standard for recycling-friendly design. The minimum standard is an important tool for determining the recyclability of packaging.

The minimum standard for determining the recyclability of packaging has evolved every year since it was first published on 1 September 2019. The current consultation draft is based on experiences gathered over the past few years and contains various amendments compared to the 2023 edition of the minimum standard. The annual update of the minimum standard aims to ensure that only packaging with proven recyclability is considered to be recyclable.

The consultation with stakeholders opened on 4 June 2024 and will run until 12 July 2024.

The draft version will be revised and amended based on the feedback gathered during the consultation process, with the final version of the 2024 edition of the minimum standard being published on 1 September 2024.
