The system participation requirement catalogue first published by the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (ZSVR) at the end of 2018 is used widely. It is an administrative regulation that enables users to quickly and unbureaucratically determine whether the system participation requirement applies to their packaging. Statutory producer responsibility can only be achieved when everybody complies with their obligations under packaging law. The system participation requirement catalogue will be revised again and finalised. In autumn 2021, the redeveloped 2021 edition with the new and amended products in the individual product groups will be published.
The consultation was launched on 11 August 2021, and stakeholders have until 8 September 2021 to submit their comments on the new catalogue to the ZSVR. The revised 2021 catalogue edition will then be finalised, taking into consideration the comments received and assessed in collaboration with the competent authorities; the updated version will be published in autumn 2021.
